Considering a job in a Neurogenetics clinic? Interested in genetic counseling and want more information about neurogenetic disorders? Want to understand the differential, natural history, and genetics of neurologic disorders? The University of Cincinnati/Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Genetic Counseling Program offers an Online Neurogenetics course to meet these needs. Begin and proceed at a pace that is compatible with your schedule. Enrollment is continuous. The course focuses on knowledge and skills related to genetic counseling practice for a variety of neurologic conditions in a wide variety of settings. Topics include pediatric and adult genetic disorders such as Tuberous Sclerosis and Huntington Disease, common neurologic conditions that have a genetic component such as stroke and epilepsy, and prenatal onset conditions such as posterior fossa malformations. Speakers include genetic counselors, geneticists, and neurologists from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and the University of Cincinnati.
Course is currently approved for up to 1.1 Category 1 CEUs. Cost is $175 plus a $25 CEU fee for those applying for CEUs.
Each lecture is presented using a combined audio/video format using streaming video and detailed PowerPoint slides. Interactive self-paced case modules and a self-assessment test allow learners to apply and test their knowledge.
